Learning to Make Moccasins with Michelle DeEsch

Early settlers to Kentucky learned quickly to adopt some of the ways of the Eastern Woodland Indians that frequented the area. The most common items were moccasins, as shoes rapidly wore out on the rough terrain of the frontier. Moccasins could be sewn from the skins of animals and were worn by both men and women. They were also practical for growing children.
